University of Kent

Having worked alongside the University of Kent for the past 6 years, JBL are a preferred contractor for services that encompasses, ground maintenance, landscaping and arboriculture projects.

JBL were awarded the Medway Campus grounds maintenance contract in 2019, and are currently responsible for the grounds maintenance services for, landscaping, open spaces, woodlands and verges on behalf of the University. The overall purpose of the contract is to provide a clean, tidy, and well-maintained grounds within the various estates. 

In additional to our contractual responsibilities, JBL have frequently been appointment to carry out arboriculture tasks. Most recently, JBL identified several trees which posed significant risk, that were situated close to roads, footpaths, and car parks. The works involved the removal of 5 large trees, including Poplar, Ash, Willow and Silver Birches. Health and Safety plays a big part in the planning and implementation of such works, and in this case, we decided that the safest and most efficient way to complete the task, was to complete the works with the use of a 20m MEWP.
